New cases top 4,500

Another 4,519 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 436,944.

Selangor recorded 1,722 cases followed by Kuala Lumpur (557), Sarawak (479), Kelantan (373), Penang (363), Johor (288), Kedah (183), Perak (108) and Melaka (100).

Pahang recorded 99 cases, Negeri Sembilan 98, Terengganu 71, Sabah 63, Putrajaya 12, Labuan two and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 36,564 with 393 in the ICU and 210 in need of respiratory assistance.

Sixteen new clusters were detected:

2. Jalan Desaru (Kota Tinggi in Johor; 122 screened, 19 positive)
3. Jalan Lima Puluh Satu (Petaling in Selangor; 52 screened, 19 positive)
4. Jalan Padang Golf (Hulu Selangor in Selangor; 60 screened, 11 positive)
5. Jalan Stadium 2 (Lembah Pantai, Cheras, Titiwangsa and Kepong in Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor in Selangor; 85 screened, 18 positive)
6. Pasar Borong KL 3 (Kepong and Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 398 screened, 17 positive)
7. Jalan Era (Seremban in Negeri Sembilan; 247 screened, 79 positive)
8. Jalan Limbungan Jaya (Melaka Tengah in Melaka; 53 screened, 10 positive)
9. Bechah Palas (Pasir Mas in Kelantan; 81 screened, 51 positive)
10. Lorong Kubor (Pasir Mas in Kelantan; 59 screened, 16 positive)

There are currently 429 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,719 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 398,723.

However, 25 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,657.
