New cases over 2,000 again

512 in Sarawak, 459 in Selangor.

Another 2,148 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 367,977.

Sarawak reported 512 cases, followed by Selangor (459), Kelantan (221), Sabah (202), Johor (182), Kuala Lumpur (171) and Penang (134).

Terengganu recorded 57 cases, Melaka 53, Perak 51, Pahang and Negeri Sembilan 34 each, Kedah 26, Putrajaya eight, Labuan three and Perlis one.

The last time the country recorded over 2,000 cases was on March 5, when 2,154 cases were reported.

Active cases stand at 17,575 with 212 in the ICU and 82 in need of respiratory assistance.

Fifteen more clusters were detected:

1. Kampung Bunut Sarang Burung (Tumpat, Kota Bharu and Tanah Merah in Kelantan; 121 screened, 50 positive)
2. Kampung Domis (Kuala Krai, Machang, Pasir Mas, Tumpat and Tanah Merah in Kelantan; 152 screened, 40 positive)
3. Kampung Labok (Machang in Kelantan; 96 screened, nine positive)
4. Lok Lanas (Kota Bharu, Tanah Merah and Tumpat in Kelantan; 56 screened, 31 positive)
5. Jaya Setia (Petaling in Selangor; 94 screened, 12 positive)
6. Perabot Olak Lempit (Kuala Langat in Selangor; 326 screened, 25 positive)
7. Lorong Megah Jaya (Sandakan in Sabah; 38 screened, 18 positive)
8. Jalan Labuk Tiga (Sandakan and Lahad Datu in Sabah; 82 screened, 15 positive)
9. Jalan Radin (Lembah Pantai and Cheras in Kuala Lumpur; 30 screened, 10 positive)
10. Biah Skim (Keningau in Sabah; 20 screened, 10 positive)
11. Melangkap Tomis (Kota Belud and Tuaran in Sabah; 188 screened, 10 positive)
12. Kampung Bechah Semak (Pasir Mas and Tanah Merah in Kelantan; 111 screened, 36 positive)
13. Jalan Cempaka Putih (Kulai and Kota Tinggi in Johor; 106 screened, nine positive)
14. Taman Rakyat (Dungun in Terengganu; 429 screened, 26 positive)
15. Kampung Pokok Machang (Baling, Kuala Muda and Kulim in Kedah; 35 screened, 14 positive)

Ten others ended, leaving 346 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,259 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 349,039.

However, 10 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,363.
