Daily cases hit 3 digits for first time since December

The last time daily cases were below 1,000 was Dec 9, 2020.

Another 941 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 342,885.

Selangor recorded 219 cases, Sarawak 192, Johor 171 and Penang 164.

Kuala Lumpur recorded 57 cases, Kelantan 49, Sabah 34, Negeri Sembilan 18, Kedah 13, Melaka eight, Perak and Pahang five each, Terengganu four, and Labuan and Putrajaya one each.

Active cases stand at 14,219 with 166 in the ICU and 73 in need of respiratory assistance.

Three new clusters were detected:

1. Seksyen 16 (Hulu Langat and Sepang in Selangor; 322 screened, 18 positive)
2. Jalan Azlan (Kepong and Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 70 screened, nine positive)
3. Taman Vistagro (Sri Aman in Sarawak; 179 screened, 18 positive)

Eleven others ended, leaving 373 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,097 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 327,406.

However, five more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,260.
