On March 24, 2021, MalaysiaNow published a Bernama report entitled “Cradle Fund CEO had 6.8cm-deep wound track in his brain, doctor tells court”.

The report was on the ongoing murder trial of Cradle Fund CEO Nazrin Hassan.

The report had quoted prosecution witness Dr Siew Sheue Feng as saying that “the deceased had a 6.8cm-deep wound track in his brain which could be interpreted as an injury resulting from the use of a hammer or archery set”.

We have since been informed by the trial’s defence counsel Muhammad Shafee Abdullah that the report was wrong and misleading.

What the witness actually said was that an injury caused by a hammer could not have caused the 6.8cm deep wound track in the deceased’s brain. He had also not related the injury to the possibility of having been caused by an archery set.

We have taken down the report and apologise for the oversight.
