Rescue teams are still attempting to recover the body of the third victim at the construction site of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE), more than 30 hours after a crane collapsed yesterday, killing three and injuring another.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement that the teams are working to stabilise the structure before removing the launcher crane which had given way, pinning the victim beneath.

The victim was one of three Chinese workers killed in the incident near Alam Damai, the second such episode at the highway project this month.

The driver of a Perodua Bezza car was also seriously injured.

Earlier this month, two people were killed when the van in which they were travelling on the MRR2 Highway near Bandar Tasik Selatan was struck by a bridge which collapsed after being hit by a trailer.
