New cases still below 2,000

1,470 new cases, 551 in Selangor.

Another 1,470 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 322,409.

Selangor recorded 551 cases, Sarawak 222, Penang 178, Kuala Lumpur 158 and Johor 101.

Perak recorded 72 cases, Sabah 71, Kelantan 40, Perlis 29, Terengganu 14, Kedah 13, Pahang eight, Negeri Sembilan six, Putrajaya four, Melaka two and Labuan one.

Active cases stand at 16,711 with 162 in the ICU and 70 in need of respiratory assistance.

Two new clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Mega Cemerlang (Johor Bahru in Johor; 54 screened, 19 positive)
2. Jalan Pria (Titiwangsa and Cheras in Kuala Lumpur; 37 screened, 10 positive)

Sixteen others ended, leaving 426 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,830 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 304,492.

However, three more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,206.
