New cases still under 2,000 as recoveries stay ahead

Another 1,683 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 313,460.

Selangor recorded 746 cases followed by Sarawak (201), Penang (172), Johor (158) and Kuala Lumpur (125).

Sabah recorded 99 cases, Perak and Negeri Sembilan 48 each, Perlis 24, Kedah 15, Kelantan and Pahang 12 each, Terengganu 10, Labuan eight, Melaka three and Putrajaya two.

Active cases stand at 20,333 with 174 in the ICU and 81 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 2,506 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 291,958.

However, three more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,169.
