New cases still under 4,000 but daily deaths hit another high

24 deaths take virus toll to 896.

Another 3,100 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 245,552.

Selangor recorded 1,196 cases followed by Johor (490), Melaka (344), Kuala Lumpur (295), Penang (209), Sabah (169) and Negeri Sembilan (104).

Sarawak recorded 84 cases, Perak 72, Kedah 37, Terengganu and Kelantan 30 each, Pahang 28, Putrajaya eight and Perlis four.

Active cases stand at 51,977 with 282 in the ICU and 134 in need of respiratory assistance.

Thirteen new clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Sungai Rasa (Klang in Selangor; 79 screened, 35 positive)
2. Jalan Teknologi (Petaling in Selangor; 350 screened, 21 positive)
3. Persiaran Hulu (Petaling in Selangor; 54 screened, 19 positive)
4. Tapak Bina Persiaran Mokhtar (Kuala Selangor in Selangor; 147 screened, 85 positive)
5. Jalan Cyber Lima (Kulai in Johor; 150 screened, 101 positive)
6. Jalan Harmonium (Johor Bahru in Johor; 78 screened, eight positive)
7. Sri Menanti (Klang in Johor; 20 screened, 11 positive)
8. Laman Desaru (Kota Tinggi in Johor; 228 screened, 11 positive)
9. Lengkok Pantai (Kepong, Lembah Pantai and Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 122 screened, 29 positive)
10. Batu 38 (Kalabakan in Sabah; 38 screened 18 positive)
11. Sebangkoi (Sri Aman in Sarawak; 447 screened, 23 positive)
12. Taman Bukit Petaling (Seremban and Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan; 187 screened, 16 positive)
13. Kampung Tandak (Besut and Setiu in Terengganu; 196 screened, 16 positive)

Three others ended, leaving 451 active clusters across the country.

Another 2340 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 192,679.

However, 24 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 896.
