12 more deaths as new cases stay under 4,000

Another 3,847 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 238,721.

Selangor recorded 1,481 cases followed by Johor (585), Kuala Lumpur (402), Melaka (329) and Sabah (233).

Penang recorded 211 cases, Sarawak 185, Negeri Sembilan 133, Kedah 64, Kelantan 62, Terengganu 56, Pahang 48, Perak 36, Labuan 10, Putrajaya eight and Perlis four.

Active cases stand at 50,894 with 305 in the ICU and 139 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 1,692 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 186,970.

However, 12 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 857.
