New cases stay above 5,000 mark

14 more deaths take toll to 760.

Another 5,298 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 214,959.

Selangor recorded 2,460 cases, followed by Johor (1,020), Kuala Lumpur (783), Sabah (298), Melaka (153) and Sarawak (135).

Terengganu recorded 83 cases, Pahang 74, Penang 69, Perak 63, Kedah 53, Negeri Sembilan 42, Kelantan 30, Labuan 24, Putrajaya six and Perlis five.

Active cases stand at 48,150 with 313 in the ICU and 127 in need of respiratory assistance.

Ten new clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Kewajipan (Petaling in Selangor; 500 screened, 125 positive)
2. Persiaran Sabak (Petaling in Selangor; 440 screened, 44 positive)
3. Jalan Ithnin (Johor Bahru in Johor; 294 screened, 67 positive)
4. Jalan Rami Tiga (Muar in Johor; 93 screened, 47 positive)
5. Jalan Mega (Johor Bahru in Johor; 49 screened, 25 positive)
6. Sri Plentong (Johor Bahru in Johor; 44 screened, 19 positive)
7. Tapak Bina Jalan Chulan (Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur; 562 screened, 151 positive)
8. Jalan Masjid Tanah (Alor Gajah in Melaka; 1,023 screened, 69 positive)
9. Jalan Tronoh (Perak Tengah in Perak; 87 screened, 23 positive)
10. Bercham Raya (Kinta and Kuala Kangsar in Perak; 21 screened, 11 positive)

Five others ended, leaving 392 active clusters across the country.

Another 4,522 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 166,049.

However, 14 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 760.
