Death toll crosses 600 with 240 in ICU

3,339 new cases, 2,676 recoveries.

Another 3,339 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 158,434.

Selangor recorded 1,314 cases, of which 1,122 or 85.4% were from clusters and close contact screening.

This was followed by Sabah 393, Johor 362, Kuala Lumpur 334, Negeri Sembilan 236, Penang 120, Kelantan 114 and Perak 107.

Kedah recorded 96 cases, Sarawak 62, Pahang 61, Melaka 60, Putrajaya 23, Labuan and Terengganu 22 each, and Perlis 13.

Active cases stand at 37,782 with 240 in the ICU and 93 in need of respiratory assistance.

Ten new clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Pandan Indah (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 77 cases)
2. DTI Sepang 2 (Sepang in Selangor; 80 cases)
3. Taman Ikan Jinak (Tuaran and Kota Belud in Sabah; 21 cases)
4. Jalan Mawila (Kota Kinabalu in Sabah; 15 cases)
5. Jalan Perak (Johor Bahru in Johor; 35 cases)
6. Jalan Menerung (Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur; 23 cases)
7. Tapak Bina Jalan Yap (Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur; 21 cases)
8. Rantau Lada (Temerloh and Maran in Pahang; 19 cases)
9. Pantai Peringgit (Melaka Tengah and Jasin in Melaka; 24 cases)
10. Jalan Mohammed Salleh (Labuan; 12 cases)

Three others ended, leaving 292 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,676 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 120,051.

However, seven more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 601.
