1,229 new cases, four more deaths

Another 1,229 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 83,475.

Selangor recorded 435 cases (35.4%), of which 344 (79.1%) were from clusters and close contact screening.

This was followed by Sabah (333 cases, 27.1%) and Kuala Lumpur (131 cases, 10.7%).

Perak recorded 105 cases, followed by Johor (103), Negeri Sembilan (29), Pahang (28), Penang (26), Kedah (13), Terengganu (12), Melaka (seven), Labuan (six), and Perlis (one).

Active cases stand at 13,667 with 115 in the ICU and 65 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 1,309 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 69,393.

However, four more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 415.
