Three new deaths related to Covid-19 were recorded today, bringing Malaysia’s toll from the virus to 133 or 1.27% of total recorded cases.

According to a health ministry infographic, 147 new cases were also recorded, 143 of which were local transmissions.

Of the 143 local transmissions, 119 involved citizens with 110 recorded in Sabah, five recorded in Kedah, two recorded in Selangor and one each recorded in Kelantan and Kuala Lumpur.

The remaining 24 cases involving foreigners were recorded in Sabah.

The four imported cases involved three locals in Kuala Lumpur who had returned from India and one foreigner, also in Kuala Lumpur, who entered the country from Indonesia.

This brings the total number of recorded cases to 10,505, of which 770 are presently active.

Eight patients are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit with two in need of respiratory assistance.

However, 39 patients were also discharged, bringing the number of recoveries to 9,602 or 91.4% of all cases.
