Rafique Rashid also questions the timing of the announcement by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said.

The minister says she told the Dewan Rakyat that the matter comes under the purview of the chief justice.

A seven-member panel led by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat also says the investigation was done without consultation with the judiciary.

Minister Azalina Othman Said says the matter is subject to the chief justice’s decision as outlined under Clause 3 and 3A of Article 125 of the Federal Constitution.

The seven-man bench chaired by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat says more time is needed to deliberate the matter.

Case management meanwhile will be held on Nov 14.
