The White House coronavirus cluster now includes one more victim and others could follow.

It was revealed that top Pentagon officials are receiving frequent coronovirus tests after being at the White House on Sunday when a senior Coast Guard official tested positive for the coronavirus, the New York Times reports.

The chairman of the joint chiefs of staff and other top military leaders are now under quarantine after they attended a White House reception to honour “gold star” families.

The event, commemorating fallen soldiers, like many gatherings at the White House, did not feature masks or social distancing.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were both present.

Officials said the affected military leaders are now working from home or in the “Tank”, a secure facility inside the Pentagon, and this has not reduced military readiness.
