Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah has advised Muslims in the country not to waste food when breaking fast during the Ramadan month.

The king said that the wastage of food while breaking fast among Muslims was a major contributor to food wastage during the Ramadan month, adding that this was against the spirit of Ramadan which should be a month that teaches Muslims to be modest and prudent.

"Such wastage is against the principles of Ramadan because the fasting month is supposed to teach the people to be prudent and not to waste food," he said in a Facebook post.
