The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has called a meeting of the Malay rulers at Istana Negara tomorrow, as the search for the country's next prime minister continues.

The palace said in a statement today that the meeting would allow Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah to obtain the views of the Malay rulers in making a decision for the interests and well-being of the country as well as the people.

"His Majesty urges the people and all parties to remain calm and to wait patiently until the process of forming the new government is complete," it said.

"The people have made their decision in choosing their representatives. It is now up to these representatives to find a solution to the troubles shackling the people."

The Istana's statement followed a series of audiences this morning, with Barisan Nasional leaders Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Mohamad Hasan, Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali and Dewan Rakyat Speaker Azhar Harun among those seen entering the palace compound.

Several Gabungan Parti Sarawak leaders were also called for an audience, including Fadillah Yusof and Alexander Nanta Linggi.
