Nine Malaysians together with two dependents and a Singaporean have been evacuated from Kyiv in Ukraine and arrived safely in Poland early today, says Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah.

He said the convoy, led by Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Fadhilah Daud, was received by two officials from the Malaysian embassy in Poland and is now heading to the country’s capital.

“They are heading to Warsaw at the moment and are expected to return to Kuala Lumpur soon,” he said in a Twitter post.

Meanwhile, Wisma Putra said on Twitter that the convoy arrived safely at the Korczowa-Krakovets border of Ukraine and Poland at 5.45am Malaysian time (Feb 26, 10.45pm local time).

“Wisma Putra is in constant contact with the officials of the embassies on their location, safety as well as of the accompanying convoy,” it said.
