Results of the six state elections have been steadily coming in, and early predictions are pointing to a status quo, with Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu returning to Perikatan Nasional (PN) while Penang, Negeri Sembilan, and Selangor going in favour of the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) alliance.

As of 10pm, the Election Commission has declared PAS the winner in Terengganu and Kelantan.

Incomplete results show the outcome of the polls in Penang and Negeri Sembilan favouring PH-BN, while Kedah is set to return to PN.

Meanwhile, all eyes are on the battles in Selangor, where unofficial results are showing close fights between the two coalitions.

It is understood that in Hulu Kelang, considered "ground zero" in the showdown between the two coalitions, former menteri besar Mohamed Azmin Ali has won by a majority of about 1,617 against PH candidate Juwairiya Zulkifli.

In Taman Medan, PN's Dr Afif Bahardin managed to wrest the seat from PH by a razor-thin majority of 30 votes. It is understood that PH has called for a recount.

Unofficially, PH is leading in some 27 seats, while PN is leading in some 20 seats.
