Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari today said he expects the seat distribution process between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) to be 80% to 90% complete by the end of the month, in preparation for the upcoming state elections.

Amirudin, who is also the Selangor PH chairman, said discussions with BN were ongoing and that his side still needed time to report and present the matter to the central PH for a decision.

"Discussions on seat distribution will continue until nomination day, but we have set a time frame to ensure that 80% to 90% is completed by the end of April.

"We hope it will be achieved, but even if it is not achieved, we will continue the discussions because the important thing is our strategy (to face the state elections)," he told reporters in Shah Alam.

He said BN, which is part of the government in Selangor, had started to move with PH as a team, especially in preparation for the Unity Government National Convention on May 14.

PKR currently holds the most seats in the Selangor state assembly, with 19. It is followed by DAP (15) and Amanah (six).

Meanwhile, BN has five seats, followed by Bersatu (four), Parti Bangsa Malaysia and Pejuang (two each) and PAS, Warisan and the independents with one seat each.
