Negotiations for state legislative assembly seats in the six states that will face elections are still open even though Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) have agreed that the incumbents from the 14th general election (GE14) will be retained.

Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub said such matters usually happen in any seat allocation process before an election.

"In general, the seats won by the party that contested in GE14 are usually not touched.

"However, it is open to discussion. It is inevitable if they want to discuss the division of seats, it is normal in any seat negotiation process," he told reporters in Seremban yesterday.

Salahuddin said the negotiations also involved Amanah in Negeri Sembilan.

"Whether or not we get (seats), it depends on the outcome of negotiations that are being held cordially," he said.

PH has 20 state seats while BN holds 16 in Negeri Sembilan.
