Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yesterday said he was ready to be investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over the source of his party funds.

Zahid, who is also the deputy prime minister, said he was open to the matter as he had been investigated by MACC before.

"I am always open. I myself have been investigated... brought to court and I am prepared at any time.

"Thus we have been in the same boat... so (Muhyiddin Yassin) should just face up to whatever.

"I have faced (investigations before), I wish him all the best," he told reporters in Johor Bahru.

The Bagan Datuk MP was commenting on the statement of the Bersatu president who urged MACC to investigate Zahid and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim on the sources of their political funds.

Muhyiddin, who was delivering his policy speech at the Bersatu annual general assembly, was quoted as making the call to ensure that the investigation into sources of political funds is fair and equal, and that he alone is not charged in court.
