New infections at 224 as death toll stays unchanged

Another 224 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 5,041,811.

There were 278 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,995,584.

There are now 9,270 active cases, of which 8,952 or 96.6% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 0 (0%) are at quarantine centres while 309 (3.3%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of nine are in ICU with seven in need of respiratory assistance.

No new deaths were reported, leaving total deaths unchanged at 36,957.
