Daily caseload inches past 2,400 as 9 more deaths reported

Another 2,421 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,996,964.

There were 2,826 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,936,207.

There are now 24,053 active cases, of which 22,258 or 92.5% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 0 (0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,698 (7.1%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 97 are in ICU with 62 in need of respiratory assistance. 

Another nine deaths were reported, including three who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,704.
