A keenly awaited announcement by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim regarding his Cabinet line-up has been postponed at the eleventh hour.

Scores of reporters who had gathered for hours at the Prime Minister's Office for a press conference scheduled for 5pm today were informed about the postponement by Anwar's press secretary Tunku Nashrul Tunku Abaidah.

The announcement will instead be made at 8.15pm.

Anwar earlier attended an audience with Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, believed in order to brief the Agong about his Cabinet line-up.

Speaking at Tambun, Perak, where he attended a thanksgiving event at the constituency he won in the recently concluded polls, Anwar confirmed that an announcement of his Cabinet line-up would be made late in the afternoon today.
