New infections just above 3,000 as death toll up by 8

Another 3,024 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,981,374.

There were 2,969 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,917,827.

There are now 26,903 active cases, of which 24,752 or 92% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 10 (0%) are at quarantine centres while 2,049 (7.6%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 92 are in ICU with 52 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another eight deaths were reported, including two who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,644.
