New infections cross 3,500 as death toll up by 8

Another 3,537 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,975,473.

There were 3,319 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,911,632.

There are now 27,213 active cases, of which 25,127 or 92.3% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, seven (0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,978 (7.3%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 101 are in ICU with 61 in need of respiratory assistance. 

Another eight deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,628.
