New infections at 2,450 as 5 more deaths logged

Another 2,450 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,965,666.

There were 3,000 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,901,917.

There are now 27,156 active cases, of which 25,217 or 92.9% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 0 (0.0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,848 (6.8%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 91 are in ICU with 63 in need of respiratory assistance. 

Another five deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,593.
