New infections top 3,400 as 9 more deaths reported

Another 3,457 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,960,179.

There were 3,736 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,895,719.

There are now 27,877 active cases, of which 25,818 or 92.6% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 0 (0.0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,970 (7.1%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 89 are in ICU with 46 in need of respiratory assistance. 

Nine more deaths were reported, taking total deaths to 36,583.
