New infections top 2,800 as 12 more deaths reported

Another 2,852 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,953,418.

There were 3,710 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,888,938.

There are now 27,914 active cases, of which 25,969 or 93% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 0 (0.0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,848 (6.6%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 97 are in ICU with 57 in need of respiratory assistance.

Twelve more deaths were reported, taking total deaths to 36,566.
