Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah is undergoing self-quarantine at Istana Negara after testing positive for Covid-19, the palace announced today.

In a statement, it said Sultan Abdullah would remain in quarantine until April 7.

Sultan Abdullah’s wife, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, meanwhile has tested positive for the virus as well and will be self-isolating until April 8.

The palace said both the king and queen are only experiencing mild symptoms and are generally in good health.

It added that they had consented to undergo quarantine in line with the SOPs and protocol laid out by the health ministry for those who are asymptomatic or experiencing mild symptoms.
