Perikatan Nasional (PN) today urged the Election Commission (EC) to lay out the SOPs and campaign methods allowed for the Johor state election ahead of time, to allow candidates to begin going down to the ground.
“In order to guarantee strong democratic principles and practices and a clean and fair election process, the EC is responsible for preparing a platform for the contesting parties to campaign smoothly, according to clear SOPs,” it said in a statement issued by its information chief Mohamed Azmin Ali.
“This would not only ensure a democratic agenda, but also dynamic and robust principles and an appreciation of democracy,” it added.
PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin said earlier this week that the coalition was ready to face the state election in Johor.
He also said that PN would contest all 56 seats in the state legislative assembly.
