Daily cases breach 15,500 in new record

More than 7,600 cases reported in Selangor.

Another 15,573 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 980,491.

Selangor recorded 7,672 cases, Kuala Lumpur 2,063, Kedah 937, Johor 722, Negeri Sembilan 682, Penang 530, Sabah 516, Sarawak 461, Pahang 457, Melaka 452, Perak 415, Kelantan 372 and Terengganu 229.

Putrajaya recorded 41 cases, Labuan 21 and Perlis three.

Active cases stand at 147,386 with 939 in the ICU and 456 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 10,094 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 825,387.

However, 144 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 7,718.
