Dip in new cases to just under 7,000

Another 79 deaths take total death toll to 2,729.

Another 6,999 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 565,533.

Selangor recorded 2,477 cases, Kuala Lumpur 616, Kelantan 612, Sarawak 513, Negeri Sembilan 468, Johor 433, Kedah 422, Penang 248, Pahang 239, Terengganu 214, Perak 212, Melaka 202, Sabah 190 and Labuan 133.

Putrajaya recorded 13 cases and Perlis seven.

Active cases stand at 78,017 with 846 in the ICU and 419 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 5,121 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 484,787.

However, 79 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 2,729.
