Selangor leads as new cases stay above 1,000

1,285 new cases, of which 374 were recorded in Selangor.

Another 1,285 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 355,753.

Selangor recorded 374 cases followed by Sarawak (211), Penang (162), Kuala Lumpur (120), Sabah (106) and Johor (101).

Kelantan recorded 87 cases, Kedah 31, Perak 24, Putrajaya 19, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang 12 each, Melaka and Terengganu 11 each, Labuan three and Perlis one.

Active cases stand at 14,203 with 186 in the ICU and 81 in need of respiratory assistance.

Four new clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Taming (Petaling and Hulu Langat in Selangor; 19 screened, nine positive)
2. Industri Parit Raja (Batu Pahat in Johor; 456 screened, 38 positive)
3. Perusahaan Perai Tiga (Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Utara and Timur Laut in Penang; 205 screened, 66 positive)
4. Padang Manggis (Pekan and Kuantan in Pahang; 67 screened, 10 positive)

Ten others ended, leaving 348 active clusters across the country.

Another 1,175 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 340,242.

However, four more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,308.
