Recoveries stay ahead as 5 more deaths reported

1,448 new cases, 2,137 recoveries.

Another 1,448 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 317,717.

Selangor reported 561 cases followed by Johor (273), Sarawak (199) and Kuala Lumpur (103).

Penang reported 99 cases, Perak 83, Sabah 54, Kedah 20, Kelantan 19, Melaka 11, Negeri Sembilan 10, Terengganu eight, Perlis seven and Pahang one.

Active cases stand at 18,010 with 151 in the ICU and 72 in need of respiratory assistance.

2. Dagang Permai (Hulu Langat in Selangor; 135 screened, 16 positive)
3. Parit Penyengat Darat (Muar in Johor; 317 screened, 124 positive)
4. Pona (Johor Bahru in Johor; 25 screened, eight positive)
5. Melor (Pusa in Sarawak; 335 screened, 14 positive)

Thirteen others ended, leaving 449 active clusters across the country.

Another 2,137 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 298,516.

However, five more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,191.
