New Covid-19 cases hit the triple-digit mark today with 111 recorded in the past 24 hours.

According to a health ministry infographic, the bulk of these – 107 – were local transmissions while the remaining four were imported.

Of the local cases, 76 involved citizens with 67 recorded in Sabah, seven in Kedah, one in Selangor and one in Pahang.

The remaining 31, involving foreigners, were reported in Sabah (30) and Kedah (one).

All four of the imported cases involved foreigners, with two detected in Kuala Lumpur and one each in Johor and Selangor.

However, no new deaths were reported, leaving the toll unchanged at 133.

A total of 30 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 9,696 or 90.73% of all cases which, as of today, stood at 10,687.

There are now 858 active cases, four of which are being treated in the intensive care unit with three in need of respiratory assistance.
