Terengganu is open to discussion with other states on holding their state elections simultaneously to save costs, says Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

At the moment, he said, no formal discussions have been held among the six states involved, namely Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Penang.

However, he said there had been casual discussions on the matter.

"We will try to find the time and place for a formal discussion to synchronise the dissolution of the state assemblies," he said to reporters after an event at Wisma Darul Aman in Kuala Terengganu today.

Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan are led by Pakatan Harapan while Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan are under PAS’ administration.

The six states did not dissolve their state assemblies which would have enabled state elections to be held simultaneously with the 15th general election on Nov 19.
