New infections at 2,245 as death toll up by 12

A total of 55 are in ICU with 35 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 2,245 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,826,220.

There were 1,901 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,764,219.

There are now 25,659 active cases, of which 24,440 or 95.2% are undergoing home quarantine. 

One (0.0%) person has been admitted to a quarantine centre while 1,163 (4.5%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 55 are in ICU with 35 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 62.0%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 15.0%.

Another 12 deaths were reported, including seven who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,342.
