New infections at 1,600 as another 4 deaths reported

Another 1,639 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,818,890.

There were 2,056 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,756,967.

There are now 25,611 active cases, of which 24,404 or 95.3% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, four (0.0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,143 (4.5%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 60 are in ICU with 39 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 60.0%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 16.3%.

Another four deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,312.
