New infections dip below 2,300 as 8 more deaths reported

There are now 27,400 active cases, of which 26,045 or 95.1% are undergoing home quarantine.

Another 2,226 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,799,663.

There were 1,894 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,735,993.

There are now 27,400 active cases, of which 26,045 or 95.1% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 14 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,277 (4.7%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 64 are in ICU with 38 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 60.3%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 17.3%.

Another eight deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,270.
