New infections just over 2,000 as death toll up by 6

Another 2,067 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,795,009.

There were 2,279 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,731,426.

There are now 27,328 active cases, of which 25,963 or 95.0% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 19 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,277 (4.7%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 69 are in ICU with 40 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 64.0%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 18.6%.

Another six deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,255.
