New infections dip below 2,500 as death toll up by 8

A total of 81 are in ICU with 50 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 2,437 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,737,984.

There were 3,658 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,659,688.

There are now 42,203 active cases, of which 40,525 or 96.0% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 31 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,566 (3.7%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 81 are in ICU with 50 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 63.8%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 21.8%.

Another eight deaths were reported, including two who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,093.
