New infections top 4,700 as 9 more deaths reported

Another 4,759 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,659,710.

There were 4,806 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,577,518.

There are now 46,260 active cases, of which 44,708 or 96.6% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 23 (0.0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,477 (3.2%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 52 are in ICU with 28 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 59.4%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 13.8%.

Another nine deaths were reported, including three who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,932.
