Daily caseload drops to 2,400 as 5 more deaths logged

A total of 48 are in ICU with 25 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 2,417 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,598,391.

There were 2,536 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,526,817.

There are now 35,758 active cases, of which 34,526 or 96.6% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 20 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,164 (3.3%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 48 are in ICU with 25 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 61.5%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 11.7%.

Another five deaths were reported, including two who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,816.
