New infections drop to 3,500 as another 6 deaths logged

Another 3,589 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,589,911.

There were 2,224 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,518,912.

There are now 35,198 active cases, of which 33,888 or 96.3% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 27 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,241 (3.5%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 42 are in ICU with 25 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 61.9%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 10.2%.

Another six deaths were reported, including two who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,801.
