New infections drop below 2,000 as another 8 deaths reported

Another 1,918 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,575,809.

There were 2,321 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,510,643.

There are now 29,382 active cases, of which 28,140 or 95.8% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 26 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,172 (4.0%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 44 are in ICU with 24 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 61.2%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 9.9%.

Eight more deaths were reported, taking total deaths to 35,784.
