New infections cross 2,700 as death toll up by one

Another 2,796 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,549,847.

There were 2,503 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,486,787.

There are now 27,318 active cases, of which 26,253 or 96.1% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 18 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,009 (3.7%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 38 are in ICU with 21 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 62.3%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 8.7%.

One more death was reported, taking total deaths to 35,742.
