New infections top 2,300 as another 5 deaths logged

Another 2,320 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,532,632.

There were 1,390 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,473,021.

There are now 23,886 active cases, of which 22,840 or 95.6% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 18 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 990 (4.1%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 38 are in ICU with 22 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 62.2%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 8.7%.

Another five deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,725.
