New infections top 2,000 as another 4 deaths logged

A total of 24 are in ICU with 12 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 2,092 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,528,390.

There were 1,876 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,470,067.

There are now 22,607 active cases, of which 21,589 or 95.5% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 16 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 978 (4.3%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 24 are in ICU with 12 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 61.0%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 5.5%.

Another four deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,716.
